Summer Fun

I didn't have this blog up yet when summer was around. So I am just going to write the highlights of our summer.

It started out COLD. For Memorial day we went up to the cabin where it rained the whole time, but that didn't damper our trip.

Look at all the snow! It was crazy, this was at the end of May. It should be nice and warm, but no it had to be cold.

Here are just some other pictures from our trip.

That wraps up our first trip up to the cabin, next we move onto camping up at Paysons lakes. When went up in the middle of June, when it should have been nice and warm. When we got there there was about 3-4 inches of water in our fire pit. And when we woke up the next morning it snowed about an inch on us. It was cold!! So we really didn't get to do much. We tried fishing but it was just to cold. The good thing though, was that we got so see a ton of deer. We had them basically in our camp.

Finally for the 4th of July it warmed up for us and we headed back up to the cabin. On this trip we took our good friends, Jesse and Camille. We had a great time and perfect weather up there. We took a trip into Yellowstone and saw a bunch of animals. We saw a Grizzly Bear and a Black Bear with her baby, it was so cute. We were able to float Big Springs and went to watch fireworks over Island Park Lake Below are some pictures that hightlight our trip.

A few weeks after that we went on a hike with Jesse and Camille and Eli. We had a great time. We found a Inch Worm and put it on MaKenna's hand and she didn't freak out at all. It was so cute.

Our Little Landscaper in the Making

A couple of weeks ago we help our friends put a layer of topsoil down at their new home. MaKenna was such a big helper. Here she is making sure we are doing it correctly. I guess we weren't doing it right, so she is doing it herself.

Now its time to have some fun. After working so hard she deserved a break.

When we were done she was pretty dirty. I'm glad I have such a great little helper.

Day 2 of Cabin

So on Sunday we decided to take a walk along Big Springs. I love this spot, it is so beautiful. As we started to walk down the path there was a squirrel that didn't have any fear. It sat right next to Kain. It was so funny and cute. It finally ran off and Kain chased it up a tree. We came to a spot and thought it would be fun for Kain to play in the river. There was a big tree down, and if anyone knows Kain you know that he LOVES wood. So here is video of him playing with the tree.

I know he is crazy! He tries this all the time. He thinks bigger the better.

Later Dan and I went and picked Huckleberries. It took us about one hour and we gathered about 1 cup worth. I am hoping that next year I will be able to gather more. Well that about wraps up our trip to the cabin. We will see you next year cabin.

Go Bye Cabin

Dan and I helped close up Dan's parents cabin in Island Park a couple of weeks ago. It was sad, I love the cabin and we had the perfect weather up there. It was sunny and warm the whole time. Dan's parents were kind enough to take us to some new places that I have never been before. So on Saturday we packed up and went to Virginia City. It's a old ghost town, that is now a tourist attraction. This building that we were standing by was used to hang 12 men. It was pretty interesing to walk around this old town. I wondered how people could survive such harsh conditions that were given to them? In our time we have heaters, bathrooms, washer and dryers all right in our homes. Back then they didn't. So I just wonder when there was 5 feet of snow on the groung how they curvived? Here is MaKenna and me in front of the old press. It really is impressive how they used to publish a paper. As we were walking around we ran into Kain's twin. We couldn't beleive it! It looks just like him, but a little older. Here are some more pictures of the old town.

After we were done looking around we went home. Then Dan's parents treated us to a Prime Rib dinner and a play. We get so spoiled when we go up there, I love it!
