Time To Catch Up

Well I told you from the start I would not be very good at posts....and suprise I'm not. I'll just talk about the highlights of this year so far, sorry no pictures they just take to long to upload.

This spring we finally got our camping trailer and have enjoyed it as much as we can. Our first camping trup was down to Cherry Creek by the Sand Dunes. It was mid March and it was actually really warm the first night, we were wearing shorts and catching up on our sun that we had been missing from the winter. We were able to ride our 4-wheeler and have so much fun, until the next day. There was a wind storm so that left us stuck inside our trailer with no entertainment and a hyper child. It was a little hard but worth the fun we did have.

Let's see, next camping trip was bear hunting with Nicole and Eric, it was a colder and rainy trip but fun as well. Eric didn't see any bears but on our scouting trip a couple of weeks before we were able to see a bear up Spanish Fork Canyon. Thats the first time I have ever seen a bear in Utah.

Memorial Weekend we up Sheep Creek and pretty much got rained out. Not a great trip but it had its fun moments. Then it was cabin time. It was beautiful weather, we were able to meet up with my friends Heather and Austin and floated down Big Springs. We saw a ton of moose. On the road to Dan's cabin on night I saw a couple of bull moose. The next morning Kain woke us up barking, Dan looked out the window and there was a moose right outside the cabin. The next night we went to look for moose and we saw a mother moose and her two babies. Then about 1/4 mile down the road we saw 3 bull moose. It was an amazing sight. Ok I will post a picture, I love moose.

But it was so much fun up there, we were able to go shopping in West Yellowstone, go 4-wheeling and just spend time in an amazing place.

We have had a great summer with a few more camping trips to Strawberry Lake, where we caught crayfish and cooked them up. Kain got sprayed by a skunk, but I don't think it really bugged hime. But he was one stincky dog. Just a couple of weeks ago we went up Fairview Canyon for my birthday. Once again we went 4-wheeling and just had a blast. We had to give Kain a lift on our 4-wheeler. It was pretty funny.

Well I think that about wraps up our summer. It seems like it has just flown by. The spring was pretty cold and wet which really put a damper on some of our summer activities. But over all what a summer it was. I am just so happy that we live in this amazing place, I love the mountains, I love the lakes, I just love Utah!

Now a quick update about our family. We are all doing great! Dan is still working at Complete Restoration and loving it. I am still working at Hollywood Video part-time, and I work at RE/MAX Results in Provo. I work 3 days a week there and love it. MaKenna is just getting so big. I love that little girl, so is just the sweetest girl I have ever met. Just full of love she is. She brightens up my day when she comes running into our bedroom in the morning and says "hi mommy". What a doll.

It's been a while!!

I know I haven't posted anything in months, I have just been busy....and when I guess I have a extra minute or two I usually watch t.v. But I was just reading my friends blogs and decided I will put a little bit in each day or so. I am not going to clean the kitchen, but let the world know about my life instead! Where to Begin? Christmas We had a wonderful Christmas this year. MaKenna was so much fun. She sorta figured out what was going on and had a great time. She opened her first couple of presents and just wanted to play with them and not open any of her other presents. She got spoiled, of course, she got a Dora dvd, some new clothes, blocks and just a bunch toys. For Christmas Eve we went to Dan’s parents and had a prime rib dinner. It was so cute cause I looked out their window and there was a group of deers walking through their neighbors yard. That was such a great touch to the night. A few days after Christmas we went sledding and MaKenna just loved it. In fact she was so mad when we left she cried for ever. Here is a video of her scooting her self down the hill.
Happy Birthday MaKenna Wow MaKenna is already 2 years old. I just can’t believe it. She has grown up so fast. For her birthday we thought that we would get her a Dora Trike. We thought that this would be the best present ever. MaKenna woke up from a nap and we had some friends over and she was a little groggy still. So we had her open her present and she cried. Every time we had her try to ride it she would cry. We thought that she would have just been jumping up and down with joy, not crying. When we would try to put her on it she would cry harder. It took her a while to warm up to it, but she loves it now.

Don't Let This Happen!!!

First off, I know I haven't posted anything in a long time. I have just been really busy with life at the moment. But I do have things to post I just need to find the extra hours it will take. But this is something that I feel very strongly about and do not want to see it happen. So I was looking around the Internet and I saw this article http://a-list.msn.com/default.aspx?cp-searchtext=Dora%20the%20Explorer%20 about a Dora makeover on MSN. Now if you know MaKenna then you know that she LOVES Dora. So I looked over the article and they are going to totally change Dora. Since she will grow up all her interests will be shopping, boys, and all the things that I don't MaKenna being. Of course I know that when MaKenna is a teenager she will be into those things, but I don't want one of her role models to tell her that's all there is at that age. Dora right now is a smart, fun, adventurous girl. So what are they saying, that once you hit a certain age all that goes out the window and you become a popular, fashion seeking dumb girl who doesn't care of about the world or people around her? I just can't support this type change. It breaks my heart that little children have no one to look up to, to show them that there is so much more in life. This world is full of so much fun and adventure, there is no need to exposed little girls to a lifestyle that they will never find happiness in. So I really never do this, but there is a petition and I hoping that you will please sign it and we can hopefully stop this horrible change. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that Dora can't grow up, just that she should stay the same girl and still go on adventures, she should become something that matters in this world and show little children that they can become what ever they want. Thanks for your help with this.

Winter Fun

As we all know it has been snowing like crazy these last few weeks. So we found a pair of snow boots for MaKenna and I. Yesterday we decided to try them out and went and played in the back yard. Here are just a few pictures of our fun time.

The Little Tree That Could

This past Sunday we went with some of our friends to cut us down a Christmas Tree. We have done this for the last couple of Christmas's. It is so much fun, not only getting the tree that YOU picked out, but just spending time up in the mountains. Seeing the beauty that this world can offer and spending time with family and friends. So this year our friends had some property that they were nice enough to let us take a tree out of. So we get up there and we walk around some and nothing is really jumping out saying cut me down. So we continued further and further into their property. I eventually take off my own way and climb down a hill. There I started to take pictures of some trees that I think would work. So here is tree number 1:

Tree number 2:

And tree number 3:

Which one did I pick? Well as I was walking around I saw one tree and then turned around and down the trail was a tree that I thought looked just perfect. So I made my decision. Dan didn't say not to get it so I chose number 3. I thought it looked good. This is the one that said cut me down and let me be part of your Christmas. So that is what we did.

When we got home I was excited to get it up. And then I noticed that it wasn't as full as I remembered it being in the forest. In fact it is kinda sparse. But that is ok I love it anyway. Its not about the tree to me, its about the great memories that we make, the fun and time spent together. So here is our 2008 Christmas Tree.

Halloween Fun

Ok I know this is a little late...but at least I am getting it done. This year for Halloween was so much fun. We got dressed up and went trick-or-treating with some of our good friends. The first house we went to MaKenna didn't quite get it. When the door opened she charged right in and was pretty upset when I had to pull her out. Then onto the next house where she started to get the hang of it. It was so cute to see her walk from house to house. They are such a delight to have!! After trick-or-treating we went to a good friends house and partied it up. Dan won us a couple of massages by eating some pretty gross looking stuff. I am so glad that I have a husband that will eat just about anything ;) Below are some pictures from the night.

Fillen in!

So i know most everyone that looks at this page is expecting Kim to be writing something but not today my friends ohhhhh no, today it is I........Danny-boy. And if you don't know who that is well then you probably don't know my wife as well as you think. Anyway on to the matters at hand.
Thanksgiving was just here and as always did not disapoint, but then again how can stuffing your face and watching football ever be bad? This one started out as most with us waking up and having a big breakfast (biskets and gravy) and then heading to the in-laws (kim's family) and hanging out for abit before going to mine and eating so much i wanted to puke especialy when doing dance dance revolution for hours and playing ping pong. "sorry no pictures" But this thanksgiving we did something i've never heard of but was one of the greatest ideas ever known to man...... PRE THANKSGIVING DINNER!!!! what is that you ask, well this year it was me my two brothers and our familys meeting over at my brother in provos house and having ribeye steaks and shimp and just having a great time chatting and playing games. It was great times infinity. The food was better then i can describe. And the company wasn't bad either ;)
