Winter Fun

As we all know it has been snowing like crazy these last few weeks. So we found a pair of snow boots for MaKenna and I. Yesterday we decided to try them out and went and played in the back yard. Here are just a few pictures of our fun time.

The Little Tree That Could

This past Sunday we went with some of our friends to cut us down a Christmas Tree. We have done this for the last couple of Christmas's. It is so much fun, not only getting the tree that YOU picked out, but just spending time up in the mountains. Seeing the beauty that this world can offer and spending time with family and friends. So this year our friends had some property that they were nice enough to let us take a tree out of. So we get up there and we walk around some and nothing is really jumping out saying cut me down. So we continued further and further into their property. I eventually take off my own way and climb down a hill. There I started to take pictures of some trees that I think would work. So here is tree number 1:

Tree number 2:

And tree number 3:

Which one did I pick? Well as I was walking around I saw one tree and then turned around and down the trail was a tree that I thought looked just perfect. So I made my decision. Dan didn't say not to get it so I chose number 3. I thought it looked good. This is the one that said cut me down and let me be part of your Christmas. So that is what we did.

When we got home I was excited to get it up. And then I noticed that it wasn't as full as I remembered it being in the forest. In fact it is kinda sparse. But that is ok I love it anyway. Its not about the tree to me, its about the great memories that we make, the fun and time spent together. So here is our 2008 Christmas Tree.

Halloween Fun

Ok I know this is a little late...but at least I am getting it done. This year for Halloween was so much fun. We got dressed up and went trick-or-treating with some of our good friends. The first house we went to MaKenna didn't quite get it. When the door opened she charged right in and was pretty upset when I had to pull her out. Then onto the next house where she started to get the hang of it. It was so cute to see her walk from house to house. They are such a delight to have!! After trick-or-treating we went to a good friends house and partied it up. Dan won us a couple of massages by eating some pretty gross looking stuff. I am so glad that I have a husband that will eat just about anything ;) Below are some pictures from the night.

Fillen in!

So i know most everyone that looks at this page is expecting Kim to be writing something but not today my friends ohhhhh no, today it is I........Danny-boy. And if you don't know who that is well then you probably don't know my wife as well as you think. Anyway on to the matters at hand.
Thanksgiving was just here and as always did not disapoint, but then again how can stuffing your face and watching football ever be bad? This one started out as most with us waking up and having a big breakfast (biskets and gravy) and then heading to the in-laws (kim's family) and hanging out for abit before going to mine and eating so much i wanted to puke especialy when doing dance dance revolution for hours and playing ping pong. "sorry no pictures" But this thanksgiving we did something i've never heard of but was one of the greatest ideas ever known to man...... PRE THANKSGIVING DINNER!!!! what is that you ask, well this year it was me my two brothers and our familys meeting over at my brother in provos house and having ribeye steaks and shimp and just having a great time chatting and playing games. It was great times infinity. The food was better then i can describe. And the company wasn't bad either ;)

Summer Fun

I didn't have this blog up yet when summer was around. So I am just going to write the highlights of our summer.

It started out COLD. For Memorial day we went up to the cabin where it rained the whole time, but that didn't damper our trip.

Look at all the snow! It was crazy, this was at the end of May. It should be nice and warm, but no it had to be cold.

Here are just some other pictures from our trip.

That wraps up our first trip up to the cabin, next we move onto camping up at Paysons lakes. When went up in the middle of June, when it should have been nice and warm. When we got there there was about 3-4 inches of water in our fire pit. And when we woke up the next morning it snowed about an inch on us. It was cold!! So we really didn't get to do much. We tried fishing but it was just to cold. The good thing though, was that we got so see a ton of deer. We had them basically in our camp.

Finally for the 4th of July it warmed up for us and we headed back up to the cabin. On this trip we took our good friends, Jesse and Camille. We had a great time and perfect weather up there. We took a trip into Yellowstone and saw a bunch of animals. We saw a Grizzly Bear and a Black Bear with her baby, it was so cute. We were able to float Big Springs and went to watch fireworks over Island Park Lake Below are some pictures that hightlight our trip.

A few weeks after that we went on a hike with Jesse and Camille and Eli. We had a great time. We found a Inch Worm and put it on MaKenna's hand and she didn't freak out at all. It was so cute.

Our Little Landscaper in the Making

A couple of weeks ago we help our friends put a layer of topsoil down at their new home. MaKenna was such a big helper. Here she is making sure we are doing it correctly. I guess we weren't doing it right, so she is doing it herself.

Now its time to have some fun. After working so hard she deserved a break.

When we were done she was pretty dirty. I'm glad I have such a great little helper.

Day 2 of Cabin

So on Sunday we decided to take a walk along Big Springs. I love this spot, it is so beautiful. As we started to walk down the path there was a squirrel that didn't have any fear. It sat right next to Kain. It was so funny and cute. It finally ran off and Kain chased it up a tree. We came to a spot and thought it would be fun for Kain to play in the river. There was a big tree down, and if anyone knows Kain you know that he LOVES wood. So here is video of him playing with the tree.

I know he is crazy! He tries this all the time. He thinks bigger the better.

Later Dan and I went and picked Huckleberries. It took us about one hour and we gathered about 1 cup worth. I am hoping that next year I will be able to gather more. Well that about wraps up our trip to the cabin. We will see you next year cabin.

Go Bye Cabin

Dan and I helped close up Dan's parents cabin in Island Park a couple of weeks ago. It was sad, I love the cabin and we had the perfect weather up there. It was sunny and warm the whole time. Dan's parents were kind enough to take us to some new places that I have never been before. So on Saturday we packed up and went to Virginia City. It's a old ghost town, that is now a tourist attraction. This building that we were standing by was used to hang 12 men. It was pretty interesing to walk around this old town. I wondered how people could survive such harsh conditions that were given to them? In our time we have heaters, bathrooms, washer and dryers all right in our homes. Back then they didn't. So I just wonder when there was 5 feet of snow on the groung how they curvived? Here is MaKenna and me in front of the old press. It really is impressive how they used to publish a paper. As we were walking around we ran into Kain's twin. We couldn't beleive it! It looks just like him, but a little older. Here are some more pictures of the old town.

After we were done looking around we went home. Then Dan's parents treated us to a Prime Rib dinner and a play. We get so spoiled when we go up there, I love it!

Hollywood Video...It's actually fun!

So I have worked my first week at Hollywood Video and I have to say I really enjoy it. It's a really fast paced work environment, which I really like. There isn't much down time, and when we get the occasional break in customers there is always something to do. So far, I have liked everyone that I have worked with and customers haven't been bad either. It's just been tuff working 2 jobs. But next week is my last week at CPix :)

Job Update

So I finally got a part time job. It's nothing glamorous, unless you think that free movie rentals is glamorous! To be honest I really am excited to be able to rent movies for free. I got a job at Hollywood Video in Spanish Fork. I am really excited to be able to stay home with MaKenna and be a stay at home mom with a side job. As much as I love staying home I know that I will need a little time away and this job will offer me everything that I need. Now, I know that a lot of people think that going from a office job to work at Hollywood Video is a step down in life, which I kinda think too. I just have to remind myself that it is not really a step down just a different direction in life that offers me the opportunities that I want. Now MaKenna can have a full time mom. So hopefully I can adjust my life back to being a mom and not just someone who is around for an hour or two each day.

Hello

Hello everyone!! I guess it's time for me to jump into this blogging sensation. I don't think that I really have an exciting life so I may not do many posts. But it's fun to check up on my friends blogs and see what's new with them. So....umm....what to write? Well let's see.

MaKenna is getting so big and cute. I can't believe how much fun she is! I just can't wait till I get home and can play with her. Everything she does makes me laugh. And she is a smart little one. I'll post pictures of her at in a latter blog.

Um....Dan and I are good. I am currently looking for a part time job at night so I can stay home with my little Makennakins. I really miss her :( Kain is doing great, he is still just our big pupa-fulpa (he is just a big puppy still).

I just finished reading Breaking Dawn and really liked it. I love to read and the Twilight series is a great read. Keep me wanting more and more.

Well I guess that is all I really have right now. I do apologize in advance, I'm not very good at this sort of stuff. So my blog won't be anything special. But thanks for reading.
